When Do I Have to Submit Personal Income Tax?

For Employees whose company is participating in AIS need not file the income received from their employer. The information will be submitted to IRAS by 1st March 2017 and it will be automatically included in their income tax assessment.

Employees will still be required to file a tax return if they received a notification to file and declare their other sources of income (E.g. Rental Income, etc).
Employees can view their auto-included information in the ‘Income, Deductions and Relief Statement (IDRS)’ at myTax Portal.

E-Filing 18 April 2017
Paper Filing 15 April 2017

If you need to extend your filing due date, applications have to be sent before 31st March 2017.

You can apply by emailfax or post with the following details:

  1. Your full name and tax reference number (NRIC)
  2. Reason for your request; and
  3. An estimate of your chargeable income.

Who is required to submit Personal Income Tax?
You would have to file an Income Tax if you receive a letter, form or an SMS from IRAS informing you to do so. It does not matter how your income in the previous year or if you’re participating in the Auto-Inclusion Scheme (AIS) for Employment Income.
